manufacturing facility. USM has been custom designing and fabricating custom scale models, operation
and maintenance training aids/devices, test models, custom machining, mockups, and prototypes for
forty-seven years. USM can provide a full range of services including fabrication of custom products
from supplied drawings to turn key projects that include design, engineering, and fabrication. We
have extensive experience in developmental items comprised of ferrous/non-ferrous metals, plastic,
and wood materials.
From sub-scale hardware, to a full-size mockup of the Space Shuttle Orbitor's crew compartment, the scale of the model is limited only by your imagination. USM's facility enables full-size mockups to be constructed in its thirty foot high assembly bay, using a seven and a half ton overhead crane. Whether you need a full-scale engineering mockup of the Space Station, a cargo load module of a huge transport aircraft or the prototype for a computer case, USM has an enviable record of fabricating award-winning models for training, display and product development in a wide variety of industries.
